Classical Music

OK, never, ever, ever, ever thought this would be me just loving classical music, but hey, some of this stuff just ROCKS, some is just incredibly beautiful. This is going to be a bit of a jumble I think cos I'm just discarding vids here of stuff that has impacted on me and that I've started listening to on a regular basis. Gotta start with Vivaldi's Four Seasons  and my fave piece, 3rd movement of Autumn

Now thiiiiiis really rocks, has become one of my very favourites, it's Carl Orffs Carmina Burana and here it is in it's entirety

It's rather a long piece so here's a small clip of one of my favourite bits of Carmina Burana, Tanz

and my very favourite bit from Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet, Dance of The Knights, woweeeeeeee!!!!

Attended my first BBC Proms concerts this year at the Royal Albert Hall, what an experience!!! This was something that major impacted on me, seeing/hearing Tchaikovsky's 4th symphony for the first time, and performed live! WOW!

This was my favourite movement from that symphony, the 3rd movement, though the 4th pretty awesome too!!

Another piece of music I saw performed at the very same Prom was Tchaikovsky's Francesca da Rimini

part 1, Francesca da Rimini

part 2, Francesca da Rimini

part 3, Francesca da Rimini

Something else I enjoyed from my Proms experience was the semi-staged performance of Weber's Der Freischutz, here is the overture, the singing and the music were both fabulous in the performance I saw, this clip is rather lovely too
